Farm Fresh Ingredients for Our Meads and Wines

We endeavor to use fresh local honey and produce in our meads and wines whenever available. And believe it or not, some of the fruits and berries we use for Berry Nice and Alawicous are raised or foraged on our property on the North Side of Ellwood City.

Here are some of the local farmers we support.

Honey

  • Bedillion Honey Farm (Hickory, PA)
    • The majority of our meads contain Wildflower and Clover honey from Bedillion and we carry a selection of their 16 oz and 32 oz honey jars in our Mead Hall.
  • Brown Bear Honey Farm (Ellwood City)
    • We have a run of Berry Nice that uses Brown Bear Honey making it the most local of our Meads from the honey, right down to the fruit.
  • Thomas Gaul (Slippery Rock, PA)
    • We have made a few of our meads from this local beekeeper's Fall Light Honey.

Fruit

  • Soergel Orchards (Wexford, PA)
    • Several fresh ingredients from Soergel's go into our meads and wines. We use their blueberries to make Blueberry Moon and Berry Nice, their plums to make Ryoko, and freshly pressed apple cider to make Original Sin.
  • McConnell's Farm & Market (Aliquippa, PA)
    • We make Annabelle using fresh peaches from McConnell's.
  • Harley's Oak Spring Farm (New Brighton, PA)
    • We make Dave from fresh Rhubarb from Harley's.
